JASON BENNETT

I build fine furniture and teach woodworking classes from my shop in Jonesborough, Tennessee. My passion for furniture making was kindled in 1991 when I began studying under Lonnie Bird. Fine Woodworking and the skill it demands came natural to me and I soon found myself working in Lonnie’s shop building period furniture for his clients. As our friendship continued to grow, I began teaching with Lonnie and ultimately, in 2001, we decided to move to Tennessee to start a school of fine woodworking. Now, with Lonnie’s retirement, he has passed the reins on to me and I’m continuing with my own school.

Fine woodworking has never been just a weekend hobby for me … It’s been my profession for 30 years. I’m excited to share with you my extensive experience of building and teaching fine furniture. You’ll find that I’m patient, can teach all skill levels, and I can take complex processes and break them down into simple, understandable steps. Looking forward to seeing you in a class … or two!

“I’ve personally trained Jason and he’s worked with me for the past 30 years. Because of that, he has tremendous skill and a vast knowledge base. He’s a master woodworker in his own right.” -Lonnie Bird
